How To Live Wild Chapter 1: Into The Wild

This is a story I'm writing for fun. I'm writing to 2nd chapter now and will post it later.

The young dog ran wildly around in the forest. All the surroundings were new to her. She jumped over bushes and ran under a fallen tree, held up by the tree next to it. She came to a sudden stop when she saw a stream full of rushing water in front of her. The current of the stream was too strong for her to swim through. She had to go around. The black and white, husky looking mix turned left and walked parallel to the edge of the stream. The stream had a rocky edge. One false move and she would go plundering into the raging water below. She continued her walk. The young dog walked calmly on the edge. Her mind went wandering and before she knew it, her paw landed on a sharp rock that was lying in her path. “Ow!” She barked, losing her balance. She felt the ground underneath her paws give away and felt the ice cold water of the stream come over her fur as she fell into the stream below. She tried to swim for the shore, but the current was dragging her down, below the surface of the water. “Help!” She screamed, “Help!” But she knew that there was no one around. She gasped for air as the water dragged her under again. She tried to swim for shore again, but gave up because she knew she was fighting a losing battle. She yelled for help again and looked around to see if anyone was around. Soon she felt her eyelids closing. Her mind was racing, she knew she was going to drown, then and there. But she had to hang on to her life. She grew more and more tired each time she moved or tried to swim. She tried to relax, but it was really hard because the water kept pulling her under. She saw a big rock coming up out of the water ahead. She turned her body and started swimming with the current. She used the last of her strength to haul her almost-lifeless body up on top of the rock. She knew it wasn't going to be easy, but she kept thinking that she might be able to live if she would just get on the rock. She pulled with all her might; she was almost there. She saw a waterfall almost ten feet in front of the rock. She had to move. She felt her back paws giving away and started slipping. Right when the current was pulling her back down in the water she felt something grabbed her collar. The collar her abusive owner had tied around her neck was now going to save her life. The strange dog pulled her up on top of the rock. When she knew she was finally safe, when she knew she was alive, she laid her head down on the rock and fell in to a deep sleep.

Chickens from Aunt Karen

This is Little Hawk. She had a broken leg, but you can't tell it now.

This is Commando, the rooster who was all beat up.

These are the two chicks that could not keep up with their mother.
The black hen is Viper.

The red rooster is Rise. His foot had to be amputated when he was a chick, but he gets along good.

Happy Birthday, Chacha!

Chacha's birthday was yesterday. He is 10 years old!

Izzy the Fent is 7 years old!

We got Izzy in May of 2008.

Callie - My Best Friend

Because of my sister, I decided to do a blog post on my prefect little dog Callie.
She was born on a cold November night in 2009. She was the cutest little thing. She was rejected my her mother and was taken in by another dog we were taking care of for my grandmother. The other dog also had puppies, so she wasn't lonely. She also had two older chihuahua friends that she plays with and loves today. I have had her for five precious years.
She loves to eat almost anything and can jump almost two feet high. I believe she weights about 7 pounds. She loves to play the game of hide and seek. You can hide almost anywhere and she will find you. Her birthday is November 16. She loves to play with little dog toys and is really good at catching small bits of food.

In the pic above my sister and I were having fun pretending to show her like in dog shows.
She is wonderful and has to be one of the best things that has ever happened to me! :)  I love you, Callie. <3
